hey, i have been trying to find out... if you have a misscarraige at 10 weeks, do you have to have the baby removed, or will it be removed with your period? and generally, at what age does the unborn baby have to be removed after a misscarraige instead of it just being removed with your period? and also, IF the baby has to be removed at 10 weeks, how do they remove it? THANKYOU EVERYONE!!!

I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks and my doctor recommended a DNC. She said it could be very painful if I let it come out on my own.

J ... I guess every doc is different. I had my miscarriage at 6 weeks. Thinking back I beleive my doc suspected it was happening but did not want to alarm me. Just some things he said like I am concern about the blood in your urine. I was shedule to come back the following week to see him. Unfortunately I had a complete miscarriage the following day. He exam me and said there was nothing left. I was on meds for about 4 days.

J your doc was right about the pain it was detrimental and the worst pain in the whole world. I always had terriable period cramps. I refuse to complain about them ever again after that. Thank God you were spared that

I had had some brown spotting and when we did an ultrasound there was no heartbeat and the previous ultrasound had a heartbeat but it was very low and we were prepared for the worst. So my doc immediately scheduled the DNC she said it was easier recovery.

I think your doc was right.... I was scared, confused and shocked all at once when it happen, To date it is the worst experience in my life and I would not want anyone to go through that ever. Emtionally..... cant even be explained. Thank God it is in the past and I look forward to meeting my little one in Sept.

Karen-i know how you must have felt. I had a misc. in nov. and was 12weeks so I thought i was almost out of that first trimester safe...and then I spotted very little in the morning-called my Dr. and he said that it could be normal and to go in for check up until the next morning-then around 8:00pm i started feeling some lower back pain and it just got stronger and around 11:00pm i started bleeding ALOT!!! I was so sad and scared because I knew what was happening but still did not want to admit i was losing our baby. I called my Dr. and he said that the bleeding would lessen and it did NOT- I bled more and more and around 1:00am I had no energy to stand on my own. My husband rushed me to the hospital and I was admitted - i remember how painful it was and how sad- then I reached a point where I feared for my health-I did not have a D/C until 7:00am and when my Dr. finally made it to the hospital he was surprised of how much I bled-(I think he thought I was exagerating). The Dr. said that most likely the baby had already been w/no life days before but it took my body longer to realize that. So once the misc. started there was really nothing to do.

So sorry to here of your loss Evie, Unfortunately it is a pain that never dies. I still think of my baby I loss and just ask God to take care of her and let her know I love her very much ( the morning I loss the baby I dreamt of a beatiful baby girl and i know it was her). I actually had pains from that day and it started with terrible back pain then the lower abs. I went to bed from about 5 or 6 that evening, Bleeding had started severly then I knew what was happening. I started to have blood cloths Tried call the doc and could not reach him at all. I could not sleep that night for the pain. At about 2 am I went to the bathroom felt a pressure reflex was to push, then a very strong period pain and then out came the baby. I got a cup and pick it up out of the toilet and started to cry !! I put some water in the cup. My bf got up at that time and asked what happen I said to him I just loss the baby...... Lied back down depressed as ever and dont even know how I fell asleep. Whet to the doc office the next day and he said what I had pa__s was the baby. I burst into tears in his office. He said that the baby most likely had a chromosone abnomality and would have health issues in life and it was for the best. My miscarriage was Oct 7 2004. The worst day of my life.!!!!

Karen...funny you say you thought it was a little girl. I felt the same. I dont know if it was because I'd love a little girl but that's what I felt. It is a very sad and sometimes traumatic experience but we have to keep going and pray that it does not happen again. Congrats on the arrival of your baby in Sept. I wish you all the best. do you know what you are having?

Sorry you must have misunderstood I had some brown spotting went to my doc the baby was alive with a low heartbeat but a week later as the spotting continued I went for a second u/s and the baby had died then I went for a DNC. I should have been more descriptive.

No, J, you were quite clear - "to J" just didn't read your post properly. I'm sorry for what you went through and then that someone would make you feel guilty, even for a moment. Take care!
