Uterus Position

After going over my 20 weeks ultrasound, my Dr. said everything was fine with the baby, but that my uterus had not only pushed up (like it should) but it also pushed out so that it is at the very front of my stomach. He presented this as a concern and is having me take precautions such as putting blocks on the gas and break pedals of my car so I can sit far back when I drive to avoid bumping against the steering wheel. This is my first pregnancy so I have no idea what that means or if it really is a problem or not. Basically, I'm looking for anyone who can explain this further to me and clarify what exactly is wrong and also tell me where my uterus should be if it shouldn't be at the front of my stomach. Thanks! Kely

Just curious...how close do you sit to your steering wheel? Are you short?

try putting the steering wheel on a higher angle, blocks don't sound safe... as for the position of your uterus I a__sume that if it is in that position it has less protection from outside elements, like leaning against a counters or getting bumped by others... thats what I think is the dangers... your doctor will descibe what exactly is going on, just ask him why... :)

I'm 5'2". Actually, I don't sit that close, but I'm sure my stomach will hit the wheel soon enough considering it alrady looks like I have a giant watermelon under my shirt.

lol the fruit market guy must think you are stealing... sorry had to say that... um you aren't that short, I am 5'3" and I have no problems so like I said try tilting the steering wheel up if you can, it just means you'll look like an ole grannie driving with the steering wheel high... blocks just seem dangerous...
