From my last menstrual cycle, the gestation age of the fetus is 10 weeks. But the doc did an Ultrasound and told me tat the fetus is 8 weeks old. There is a 2 weeks discripancy. Is this normal or is the growth of the baby very sluggish ?? Thanks in advance

You may have gotten pregnant later than you thought. Some women release more than one egg a month or if your period is irregular you might have released later. If the doctor thought there was an issue, he/she should have said something. I would bring it up to them just to ease your mind. Good luck.

i completely agree with Candy - not everyone is eager to believe that they ovulated late - but I got pregnant with my twins the day before my period started - so I "should be" 11 days farther along, but i'm not because i conceived late. it happens- as long as your baby is growing at a good rate, i don't think you should worry...

Same thing happened to my friend. She went to her 10 week appointment and got an u/s the baby only measured 8 weeks. She is now 24 weeks and baby is doing great. Some baby are just smaller.

Natural variation. Everyone is different. The U/s machines give an age based on set parameters. Sometimes nature just doesnt feel like conforming!!! I'm the exact opposite. According to our dates (mine and doc's) I was due Oct. 26th. The u/s after that one, he changed it to October 19th. Now my due date is October 15th! Every time we do an u/s, the first thing the doc says is, "Wow. Big Baby." Don't worry!

I was the opposite. My doc said according to my lmp that I was due Oct 20th and when I had the ultrasound they said Oct 15th!!!
