We Are Already Decorating The Nursery And We Are Ttc In Dec

We found a great deal on nursery furniture and I have brought this up to many other women. Some are supportive of our practical thinking and wanting to get expenses out of the way. Others think we are crazy. We have a twelve year old. (she is mine from a previous marriage) . We have already talked about adoption and our options. I am wanting to know if there are any moms to be or moms out there that have done this with out dealing with superstions. sc

Are you sure she wasn't waiting? We are starting TTC in Jan. Just wanting to find out about moms that have been successful in doing this and have disregared the wives tales/superstions. thanks

Superst_tions aside, the only thing would be if it would pressure on the whole 'did I conceive this month' thing that we go through when we are trying to get pregnant... I know I was so depressed every month that I knew we had done everything 'right' with timing and all that, and it was almost a personal failure to not be pregnant... and I had three before this pregnancy (now 14,13 and 13) but sometimes wondered if I still could... when I got pregnant I was so excited, then the grief when I miscarried was so great, I think it would have been a nightmare beyond words if we would have had a nursery ready... we got pregnant again the next month (now we are 30 weeks) and I sit in baby Wren's nursery and cant wait for her to get here. I dont know how that would have worked out if it was already prepared for our lost baby's arrival. But, having said that, I also love a bargain and I think if you found a great deal on furniture and you know a child is in your future, it's a smart move to get it while you can. Best of luck on your new prospective addition to your family!

i decided that i wanted to start trying last january b/c i really wanted a fall baby, and i'm still not pg. if you know that you want to be pregnant, why are you holding off?! i thought that i would be pg right away, but it doesn't happen like that for everyone. i think it made me more stressed out and sad that i put a time limit on myself. if you're ready- go for it!!!

oh by the way, i've bought lots of stuff (all unis_x) and even though i'm not pg i love going through it!!

I honeslty think that is the smart way to go. My DH and I started ttc in May and I'm still not pregnant, but I have purchased a ton of maternity clothes all that were on clearance and that are really cute. I have also purchased unis_x clothes, not a ton of them, but a few outfits and such so you don't feel as if you are spending so much money during your nine months. I also have already gotten an exercsaucer and highchair from friends so I don't have to go and buy them brand new. We feel as if we are starting over buying baby stuff cause our kids are six and seven....it's nice to get things from others and for free!!

I am glad to hear of some support. I say we may not get pregnant right away and I understand the concerns. I don't think I am going to set up the nursery at first, but we are going to paint the room. Just green. Our decor is unis_x so that makes me happy. I am just excited about getting started. Oh, and the reason why we are waiting is b/c we are waiting for insurance to kick in. Also I would like to take of the last 10-15lbs before trying. So I am giving myself until the end of the year to do so. Jun 28th will be out third year of marriage and so we are really wanting to get started asap. Can't wait!! sc

I think you are putting the cart before the horse. It takes all of the fun out of it. It gives you something to do while your pregnant. If I had done all pregnancy stuff before I got pregnant, my pregnancy would have been SOOOOOO LONG!!!! Plus I know you don't want to hear about the superst_tions, but you know what they say about that...

Actually, I don't know what they say about it, and honestly I don't care. I have other important things to concentrate on anyway. Like my family (I have a very active twelve year old), my biz and my own health. To me personally I don't want to have to worry about all the expenses during the nine months. It is a pain and I would rather enjoy this pregancy then be stressed out like the last. We don't plan on putting up the furniture until after we are in the second trimester, but to buy now would save us the money and the store it's being sold at they have pretty much closed them all down in TX where I live. I think I better bit the bullet and grab it while I can. As far as superstions go I don't by into that mess. I believe that if you are gonna have a baby you will and if not then there is always adoption. We have already looked at adopting as well. thanks sc

I believe you should wait but that is me. I think if you prepare yourself too much it is bad luck.

I totally understand what you mean, but there is no such thing as luck. That is giving outside sources power over your life. No, we are blessed. I appreciate your opinion however. sc

Good for you. Way to be prepared! But are you sure you wanna get pregnant in December? I'll say that being pregnant all summer has been just horrible!!!!!

S - September 9

all i was trying to say is that maybe it would be more fun to put everything up a little a the time that way it gives you something to look forward to during pregnancy. You should do what's best for you. I can understand buying your stuff now even though i feel u may be using excuses to go ahead and set something up. Either way it's your home, your potential pregnancy. BTW....superst_tion says that's its bad luck to do any of the before your pregnant, but you don't believe any of that so what does it matter? Good luck to you!

no she was not wating it took that long both times she ttc

I didn't mean to sound so harsh. It is hard not to sound like that when you don't know the tone of someone who is typing. I upset when I responded. I totally understand what you were saying and it's true. There is always like the baby decor. I think we are gonna go ahead and get the furniture and not put it up until after the 2nd trimester. I wish I could talk to someone who has done all of this and acutally had a postive outcome and not a sad story. Thanks sc

I am just superst_tious I think I get it from my Grandma and I also suffered a miscarriage I didn't buy anything until after 3 months and didn't really start preparing the nursery until 7 months. My sister lost a baby at 25 weeks also. I just never wanted to jinx myself.
