i just found out i am 10 weeks pregnant. i have a 3 yr old son, and im 22. i had been smoking pot about 4 or 5 times a week. so has anyone smoked pot during pregnancy, knowing it or not knoing it, and did it have any affects on your baby?

with my first baby i smoked it once or twice before i knew i was pregnant, then i stopped, and she's fine. i read up on a lot of studies about it and well, they sound eh wishy-washy. most of them didn't have good findings but i think the test subjects in them weren't very reliable. they need to test pregnant women who ONLY smoke pot and are not necessarily lower income. anyway, i think that it is a good idea to stop smoking pot, the same with cigarettes, just IN CASE. if something happened to your baby because you kept smoking i'm sure you'd feel awful. besides, i'd also be afraid that if anyone found out i was smoking then they'd say i was an unfit mother and take my kids away.

I'm sure you will be fine. I would stop use however. I am a foster mother and my teenage foster daughter tested positive for THC when she was born. That was the only drug found in her system. She is not what I would consider handicapped but she does have some very serious learning difficulties. She does fine in school but it has been hard for her. She has no ability to learn unless it is wrote down and she has to follow the steps one by one otherwise she cant do it. She has some other stuff to. I know her mom smoked it all through her pregnancy so I would say stop now and it should be fine. Good luck!

Um...or she just has a different learning style. I think a lot of people incorrectly atribute "learning difficulties" to kids who just have a different WAY of learning. My mother never drank, or smoke a thing when she was pregnant with me and I had a really hard time in school for a long time. That was before we found some teachers with a different approach who showed me I was not "slow" but different. I'm not saying that smoking pot is going to be good for your child, I'm just saying that you should be prepaired for WHATEVER kind of child you are going to have.
