What Is A Level 3 Ultrasound

Hey i was just curious is anyone knows what a "level 3" ultrasound is??...im 16 weeks and my last ultrasound they found a "film" or something going from my cervix to the placenta so they are sending me to a specialist on March 19th to have a level 3 ultrasound and i was just curious is that 3D or something else?...thanks!

ok this is what i was told.....i was to have a level2 sono (for genetic counseling because of my age over 35) and i asked what was the difference in a level 2 and reg sono at your OB office and the woman doing the level 2 said she was a sono tech that was specialized in the sono and the machine was more advanced (pics looked the same to me) but that my test that day was going to be considered a level 3 because after she finished the MD came in right there and looked too instead of reviewing the results a week later ......so that is what i was told hope this helps sorry if i was confusing

I had to have a level 2 done as well. The only difference between the levels is the amount of detail they can see. It gives them a clearer picture to make sure that everythings ok. Theres also a specialist doctor that looks at your ultrasound pictures and explains any kind of concern they had in your case they'll explain about the "film" thing they told you about. Hope this helps!
