what week should you be able to see a heartbeat

HONEY - August 21

You will be able to see a faint heartbeat at your first sonogram at approximately 12 weeks. However, it is on your 20 week scan that you are able to see if there are any suspected heart defects in the baby. The sonographer will be able to show you the heart valves and rea__sure you. Good luck!

You can actually see a heartbeat as early as 6 weeks, but not always.
