I keep getting lower back pain and tummy ache the same as period pains but im not sure if its normal or not. (I am 8 weeks pregnant) I was just wondering if anyone else was experiencing the same? I also thought if anyone had any other symptoms they wern't sure about they could post them here too, and hopefully someone kind could try and answer them!! x x

i got those pains at around 8 weeks pregnant and i was told by my doc that it is period pains because its usally around the time you would get them .they soon go away when you hit the second trimester.i'm now 30 weeks and baby is fine.

Steph as long as there is not bleeding w/ the cramping it's probably nothing to worry about. I had such bad cramping in my left side at 6 weeks that they did and u/s to make sure that it wasn't an ectopic pregnancy. It wasn't so even bad cramping can just be normal. The round ligaments that hold your uterus in place start to stretch and can cause a lot of discomfort (the round ligs run kind of along your underwear leg line - a bit in from the underwear line from groin to pelvic bone). Also the period type cramping is really normal too --especially around the time when your period would be due. I think w/ this pregnancy I had AF type cramps every time my AF was due for the first 16 -20w's or so (I'm now 35.5w's). So, don't worry about the cramping as long as there is no bleeding. Good luck and Congrats.
