Your Babies Movement

Just wanted to let anyone out there who is worried about their babies movement know this. I had heard from the time your baby started moving you were supposed to see how long it would take it to move 10 times. For me my baby would sometimes only move 10 times in an entire day!! So I was very worried and scared about it. I talked to my doctor about it and she says that we don't start doing that until 32 weeks. That after 21 weeks but before the 32 weeks point we just want to be able to feel them move every day. Doesn't matter how frequently yet. I just found that to be a huge relief. I'm 25 weeks now and had thought it should be more already. I figured I would post this to see if it can put anyone elses mind at ease also.

Does anyone think something might be wrong if I feel my baby kick ALOT at only 22 weeks?? I was worried about it, then wasn't... now I am again. Anyone know what is "normal" to feel at 22 weeks?

My baby is really active, too, and has been since about 20 weeks. I asked the doctor about it because this baby seems to move ten times as much as my daughter did, but the doctor said a lot of movement is a sign that the baby is doing well. I think the amount of movement varies a lot from baby to baby, some have more energy than others. Oh, when you're trying to do kick counts, if the baby won't move try eating a popsicle.

Thanks Jbear for your rea__surance. :) I had a whole group of friends tell me that their babies who were "boxers" in the womb were their more mellow children once they were born. It will be interesting to see how my little girl turns out! :) Thanks again.

HELLO LADIES.. MY NAME IS TRACEY AND THIS IS MY FOURTH PREGNANCY. I AM A NURSE- AND BELIEVE IT OR NOT, WHEN I FOUND OUT THAT WE WERE EXPECTING- WE FOUND OUT LATE- AND BY THE TIME WE HAD THE LEVEL 2 ULTRASOUND, IT WAS A BOY. THE MOST AMAZING THING ABOUT THIS PREGNANCY IS THAT WHEN THE DR AND I FIRST MET, HE FELT THE BABY MOVE-RATHER HEARD IT WITH THE DOPPLER, AND I TOLD HIM THAT I HAD FELT THE MOVEMENT, OR FLUTTER ; CALLED "QUICKENING" FAR BEFORE THE EXPECTANT TIME- BY THE 19TH WEEK. HE CONFIRMED THAT IT WAS FETAL MOVEMENT AND SO, IT HAPPENED TO ME. THE BABY MOVES MOSTLY AT NIGHT, I AM 21 WKS NOW- AND I CAN FEEL HIM WHEN I AM AT PEACE AND MY TIME BELONGS TO ME- OTHER CHILDREN ARE PLAYING OR SLEEPING.. JUST WANTED TO OFFER MY INFORMATION. LATER DAYS, TRACEY.

When do you start to feel the baby move?? I know I have read the info about it but I forget at how many weeks you are supposed to feel it.

How come you didn't know you was pregnant? Can you explain. Just curious, I find your story interesting. Thanks

Well, that's good to know! My baby (30 weeks) still has days where she hardly moves, even when I try prodding my belly. It is very worrying, because I keep getting conflicting advice about how often she should move. I listen to her heart several times a day now, to check she's ok. Thank god I have that listening device, because I would have rushed to the hospital several times by now if I didn't. She's kicking me good and hard in the ribs right now though, and it's making me feel ill.

oh my gosh! my baby starting moving or rather kicking at 20 weeks and hasn't stopped yet. i started the kick counts at 32 weeks and so far she has kicked 10 times within 1-6 min! she is a very active baby. she especially kicks to loud music, my husband talking to her and the cat purring on my tummy!

Found out last night that my baby loves Will Smith. :) She always kicks like crazy when she hears the music to Star Wars.
