1st Period After Delivery

I am having my 1st period after delivery and it is VERY heavy. I don't remember my 1st one after my DS because it was so long ago. It is actually worse than the bleeding following the delivery. Is this normal? I go for my 6 wk pp check on Friday but just wanted to know before then.

My 1st period pp was also very heavy (worse than the pp bleeding as well). I have read several other posts that sounded similiar so I am venturing to guess it's probably quite normal. GL

I think this is quite normal. I always heard that it would be really heavy. I'm dreading mine, I'm almost 16 or 17 (I can't keep count these days) weeks post partum and I STILL have not gotten it!

My first real period at 3months pp was REALLY heavy. The worst I've ever experienced. I hope they get better. It was awful!

My first period PP was also HORRIBLE! I actually cried I was so frustrated....i went through a pad every hour I think....and then I would b___st feed and i would gush...sorry if too much info but it was really really heavy! I didn't think I would even get one because I am b___st feeding but I was wrong...I think it had something to do with starting the mini pill too....it was around the same time....then I stopped taking the pill and i stopped bleeding! So no more pill for me!!! :) But no worries it is normal!

My first was super heavy too. And long, I think it lasted 2-3 weeks.

I am on my second pp period and it sucks!! Very heavy with lots of cramps! I remember them being bad after I had my last but this is horrible. But, yes it is normal and they do go back to normal eventually.
