Probably three shots.

Our pedi told us to give my ds tylenol half an hour before the appt. I think it helped a little with the shots. Good luck!

Yes, he will unless he has a fever. Some doctors offices will give them a dose of tylenol before the shots anyway...you'll need to call to ask the dosage if you plan on doing it so just ask then if they do. I always put a few wet, clean washclothes in the freezer in sandwich bags before the appt. so that when we come home baby has some ice packs for the legs (helps with tenderness and swelling). Just fold them in quarters and lay flat; when they first come out of the freezer they are hard and stiff, but within a few minutes are pliable and will mold to the shape of baby's legs. They will last about 30 minutes or so and then I just pop the warm one back in the freezer and get out a new and alternate. If baby is in a swing or something else that is close to the sides it helps keep the packs in place or you can slip them down in the pant leg or sleeper to hold in place. My doctor recommended cold packs the first day and warm compresses on day 2.

awww the washcloth idea is great but it makes me sad to think it will hurt my dd that much when she goes on the 1st of August. Poor girl :(

Good luck with this. I had to send my dh bc I was an emotional wreck if my son cried. I did not want to be there for his shots.
