2 Month Old Questions

My dd typically would go 3 hours between feedings but now it is 2-2.5. She is approx. 12 lbs and eats 5 oz of food as of today. What is the typical weight of your 2 month old and how much are you feeding him/her? I just went from 4.5 oz to 5 oz last week and am worried that I am feeding her too much. Oh, family history has always had bigger babies (me and bro were 9 lbs when we were born). She was 7 lb 11 oz at 2 weeks early. Just need some advice - thanks in advance!

It is possible that she is going through a growth spurt and requires more food right now. My dd did that when she was like 2 weeks old...she was eating 4 ounces. I was like holy cow, is this normal?

My dd was 11 lbs 6 oz at 2 months, she was 7 lbs 1 oz when she was born a day before my due date. At 2 months she was eating between 5 and 6 ounces at a time, every 3 hours or so during the day, and then she would sleep from about 11pm til about 5:30 or 6:00am at night. Now a couple weeks later at 10 weeks she'll eat about 6 and a half to 7 ounces at a time. I don't worry about feeding her too much because she stops when she is full and doesn't spit up besides the occa__sional little urp when she burps. If your dd seems to handle 5 oz well, and it seems to satisfy her and not bother her, I wouldn't worry about it being too much for her. If she's eating every 2 to 2.5 now and used to go 3, she's probably just having a growth spurt. I asked my dr. a week ago if my dd was eating too often or too much and she said no, that she was very healthy and if she wants more at a feeding, give her more, and feed her as often as she wants to eat, and that when she starts foods/cereals at 4 to 6 months, she will go longer between feedings. This is just my experience, but I hope it helps!
