4 1 2 Month Vocalizations

Hi all, I'm starting to get concerned about DD's "quiet" nature. A few months ago she was babbling and such, then she seemed to go on strike. She doesn't "talk" much at all, and I have to try SO hard to get a few noises that would be considered a laugh. It's more a huh-huh. Very brief. Anyway, when I took her for her four-month appointment, I brought it up and the pedi said she'd be talking much more very soon, but it's been a couple weeks now and still no change. She's now 4-1/2 months, and not a talker (though she is a smiler). Anyone have any experience with their babies being slow to chit chat?

Hi, my daughter is 7 months and is not much of a talker. She babbles, but no first words. She is doing great developemently, she was crawling at 5 months and pulling herself up to stand at 6.5 and now at 7 months "cruises" while holding on to furniture or the playpen. I asked the doctor if I should be concerned and he said absolutely not. He said in the next couple months she will be talking so much she won't stop!
