5 1 2 Month Old Refusing Veggies

My son, Gabriel, is about 5 1/2 months now and even though I've started him on solids -- he's gone through all the cereals, followed by veggies and finally fruit. The second I gave him the fruit though he has flat out refused to eat any veggies, should I continue to try and feed them to him despite the fact that he cries until he has cereal or fruit??

I would keep trying as the veggies have certain nutrients in them that the fruits do not have. If he continues to refuse you can try mixing a fruit with a veggie and see if he'll take it that way. I've seen on prev posts where some mix it mostly fruit and decrease the fruit gradually until they are eating all veggie.

ok - he just took 1/2 a jar of carrotts so he may only be after the sweeter veggies, i tried peas and green beans just now and he wasn't having it at all. I'll try those again in a week or so, probably just a phase.

I'm very fortunate that my dd takes veggies...she doesn't care for fruit. (weird child, I know...haahaa!) Anyway, you can try mixing a fruit with a veggie and slowly each time use less fruit until he will maybe take it by itself. Good luck...he may just like sweeter veggies too.

My ds doesn't like peas so I mix them with sweet potatoes which he loves it take my ds a while to warm up to some neww fodds so I mix them with things he likes. He LOVES sweet poatoes, squash and green beans which is funny because I ate a ton of all three when preggo. I did notice the yellow veggies plug him up alittle so I make sure I give him apples which help him poop when giving yellow veggies. Funny all the tricks to get them to eat.
