6 Month Old Not Eating Today

My 6 month old daughter has not been eating well today. She had 4 oz of formula this morning when she woke up...and a jar of peaches at noon. She has refused to eat when food has been offered. She has been her normal self otherwise. Any ideas?? I am trying not to get worried.

Could she be teething? My daughter wanted nothing to do with eating when she was getting a tooth.

YES!!! She is teething and I did think that could be the reason. I just didn't think that she would refuse food this much. She did take another 4 oz later on yesterday...and nursed before bed. However, I am trying to wean myself from b___stfeeding--didn't b___stfeed all week. But, this was the only way she would eat last night--refused a bottle, but would nurse. She is still her normal happy self. Today when she woke up, I tried giving her a 4 oz bottle...and she refused. She was up twice last night because of her teeth...so that must be the culprit. Has anyone else experienced this???? Should I call the doc????

My son never stopped eating when he was teehing but maybe he is just different. Baby Oragel helps.

Try not to worry too much - as long as she doesn't show any other signs of illness and doesn't last too long. Both my Mom and pediatrician told me that they will not starve themselves (unless something is wrong, of course) and reminded me that, when I don't feel well, I don't always feel like eating. Just keep offering the food/formula. If it does keep up, I would call the ped, though. Maybe try some infant Tylenol and see if that makes her feel better? My son is teething and sometimes even the bottle nipple in his mouth seems to bother him.... Let us know how it goes!
