hi ladies, my son is almost 6 months old and i have been trying to get him to start eating some spoon fed food. ive tried rice cereal, oatmeal cereal and stage 1 carrots..... everytime i put a little bit in his mouth he pulls a face as if im feeding him poison and will then keep his mouth tightly closed and refuse to eat anything.... any suggestions on how to get him to eat? or perhaps hes not ready for it? he always seems hungry thats why i want to start him on the cereal. thanks

Carlie would NOT eat cereal! She hated it. I finally got her to eat it by mixing it with yobaby yogurt. She also hates fruit. She'll eat any veggie though. I would try peas, and sweet potatoes. She really likes both of those, the don't taste so yucky. Just be patient. If you get him to eat a spoon or two full at first you're doing good. He'll work his way up till he scarfing down a whole jar in no time! LOL! Good Luck.

When I first gave my lo solids, all she would eat was mashed banana (without seeds!). She wouldn't touch cereal for a long time, and just recently started eating it. She is 7 months now. They will eat it when they are ready =) just try different foods.

I tried my daughter at 5 months and she didnt eat anything till she was 7 months, she loved pureed pear from the tin, would lick it off her chin...Yes they say start with veggies but its not like your child is not gonna ever eat veggies.... One night i remember her having her pureed vegies and thats when she took her first mouthful of solids........ just keep trying but dont force it or worry, it will happen when they are ready.............

You just have to keep at em. One way you may be able to get your lo to eat cereal is by mixing a little fruit w/ it. Not too much and only try one fruit for a couple of days. you can also mix the fruit with the veggies.

She's been eating yobaby for about a month and a half now. She gets half a container with two spoons of cereal mixed in for breakfast. She likes it. As a matter of fact, she hates it if I give her fruit and cereal now! :O}
