Does Your Child Only Want You To Hold Them

my 4.5 month old daughter has started getting very cranky and upset whenever a man holds her....maybe it's the tone of voice or lack of br___ts....but it is so frustrating....because i don't want her TOO dependent on me. Does anyone else find this?

It may be the lack of cushion...lol. Lots of babies get a gender preference. It usually doesn't last very long (like a lifetime)...generally just a phase like everything else they do.

Are you sure she isn't picking up on some anxiety you have? My LO loves everyone and is more than happy regardless of who's holding him. He will laugh and coo and snuggle whom ever happens to be cuddling him. However, I really don't care for my inlaws. It is always stressful when they come into town, especially since my MIL is so critical of me. When they came into town after Christmas, it was the first time Max has ever not wanted to go to somebody. And when he did, his lip would tremble and he kept looking to me for rea__surance. He fussed alot and would settle back down as soon as I had him. He would even turn away from them and bury his face in me if they tried to talk to him while I was holding him. It was the strangest thing. My best friend stopped by while they were here to check up on me to see how I was holding up and I was another room. As soon as Max saw her he started crying and leaning towards her while in MIL's arms. Sara scooped him right up and he buried himself in her too. He had to picked up on my (and Sara's) apprehension about them. Are you sure you aren't giving off some negative vibes about the men? Maybe afraid they will drop her or upset her?

Oh, Max is a huge fan of soft b___bs. He will snuggle a bust in a heartbeat. But he doesn't discriminate against gender. He was snuggled up to some man b___bs the other day... :)

LoL on the man b___bs Kara!! My dd did this as well. She is still not fond of many men (except her Papa...he can do not wrong!!) at 17 months. I did it, my brother did it. Just like Rabbits said, just a phase.
