A Good Lightweight Stroller

Hi eveyone I am wondering if anyone can suggerst a good lightweight stroller since my regular stroller is a piece of c__p and doesn't steer well at all. I am in the u.s. I was thinking about buying a combi stroller.....does anyone have one and if so is it any good.

Funny you should mention it...I just bought a combi stroller on the weekend and I love it so far. I like how it folds flat and then the sides fold in to make it much smaller. It is much sturdier than the cheapo umbrella strollers out there and it has a good canopy (which I was really looking for since I am taking dd to florida for 2 weeks in March). The one I got was actually the previous model, but the new model is exactly the same except for the color. I got mine at Burlington Coat Factory for $40 since it was a discontinued model. I think it regularly goes for $60. My only complaint about it is that sometimes on really smooth gla__sy floors the right wheel gets stuck sideways and I have to kick it around so that the wheels turn. It has only happened twice and never on a rougher floor like tile or carpet. I would definitely recommend this stroller - it is nice and narrow too which makes it so much easier to get around in stores, plus it has a storage basket underneath and a storage bag near the handle. A definite plus for me too is that it has a carrying strap. I live in a cold climate and don't want to have to fiddle outdoors getting my daughter in the stroller, so I carry her and hang the stroller over my shoulder and then I put dd in it once I get into the store. It is light enough to carry both the stoller and my dd and I don't have to spend any time in the cold! Good luck! If you have any questions about it, let me know!

I had been shopping for a stroller for quite some time and had test drove a lot at BRU and Burlington. I couldn't a lightweight stroller for less than about $120 that I liked and would accomodate a 3 month old baby. I needed the stroller to have a basket, an adult cupholder and a snack tray for the baby. But I just couldn't decide on one and wasn't crazy about spending that much money. I had been putting Max in the snugli to go shopping and it had been working just fine, but then one day I was 75 miles from home at a large regional mall and her hated being in the snugli. I needed a stroller right that minute. I went into sears and found a kolcraft Contours stroller. I could steer it with one hand, it had a basket, and a cup holder and it was only $47. I had to twist their arm, but I got them to put it together for me! I instantly loved that stroller. When I got home I went on line to write a steller review of it at at the shopping websites I had visiting, but no place carried it. Turns out it is an exclusive product for sears, which is why I had never seen it before while shopping online. They do have it at the sears.com website though. I can't say enough great things about it. I have used it heavily these last three months at doctors visits, christmas shopping and such. I still love it. It could break tomorrow and I would go buy another one (which it shows no sign on doing) because I have gotten more than my $47 dollars out of it. My only complaint (if you can call it that) is that I would like to fold a bit smaller, but a standard fold is never going to be as compact as an unbrella fold - and unbrella strollers didn't have the features I wanted.

Also - A lot of lightweight stollers feel really hard and uncomforable at the edge of the seat where LO's legs will be dangling when they are older. The Contours was soft without a hard frame underneith hitting them at the back of the knees

And it had a five point harness so smaller babies can use it.

Well, the three months since I bought mine they have came out with a new model that is now $65. Still way worth it. I like the new color better. Mine was blue - the new one is red and has a compartment for your Ipod. Neato!

I looked up the kolcraft Contour stroller but I am wondering how small it folds up? The stroller I have now it just a regular stroller that my carseat clicks into and thats kind of bulky and I would like something that folds up smaller. I know the combi I was looking at doesnt have the snack tray or the adult cup holder which I would prefer to have both but I have not been able to find a lightweight stroller that has both for a resonable price I really don't want to spend another $200 on a stroller if I don't have to.

I'll go measure it's folded dimentions for you. I have to go heat up the car anyway. Give me a minute.

34 inches tall x 17 inches x 16 inches deep. I have an impala (full size car) and I can leave the stoller in my trunk and still get all my grocerys and a case of bottle water in there. I don't know about a smaller car though..

Angiconda - January 24

Great thanks I think thats smaller then the one I have now

I love my PEG PEREGO Pliko, its expensive (a whole bunch of friends pitched in and bought it for me) it turns on a dime, could fold a little smaller though...sigh...couldnt they all....

I reccomend the " Graco " douglider...

Christy1 - January 24

I have the Graco Metrolite. I love it.

Deb - January 25

I don't know the difference between the DX or EX. Mine is called the "Cosmo Metro Life Stroller" by Combi. If you want to check it out, go to burlingtoncoatfactory.com and do a search for combi strollers. The one that is the same as mine is brown and blue, but mine is a different color since I got the discontinued model. It is $59.99. Hope this helps!

I don't know if you saw this, Angiconda, so I'm just bumping it up!
