My husband wants to take a vacation and that would mean making a 2 hour air ride with our 1.5 month old baby. (he's only 2 weeks now. but he'll be 1.5 monhts when we go on vacation). When did you mommies feel comfortable taking an airplane w/ your baby?

My daughter took her first trip on a plane when she was 5 weeks old. All she did was sleep, my daughter and I flew again just last week she is now 7 months old, and there were 3 other babies on the flight ( and connecting flights ). One was 4 weeks old and one of the other young ones was 7 weeks old.

Tip for take off and landing: let baby suck a pacifier or nurse as the sucking will help relieve the pressure in their ears during the alt_tude change.

My only concern would be that everytime I fly on a plane I get sick. I think it's the recirculated air. I did however go on a 16 hour road trip with my son when he was 2 months and he did great. He slept a lot.

I took my son on a 5 hour flight when he was 8 weeks old and flew back when he was 14 weeks. The plane itself wasn´t bad at all as he slept pretty much the entire flight both ways; pa__sing security at the airport sucked (it was an international flight) so empty your pockets and fold your stroller in advance so you don´t have to do it last minute with a baby in arms, at least at Newark airport nobody helped me even to hold the baby. I was prepared with a bottle of water for the take off but by the time it happened my son was already asleep and he didn´t notice a thing.
