My baby just doesnt seem fully content after br___tfeeding all day, she wants to eat constantly and she is always hungry - so I was considering feeding her rice cereal once a day to help keep her content - i know its a little early so I want to hear opinions - what do you guys think? Her pedi said 4 months - but whats the difference between now and 3 more weeks?

Hey Heather, I was actually told to go ahead and feed my baby (10wks) cereal at 3 months so long as he has good head control. I asked my pedi about it and she told me to go ahead around 3-4 months.

Heather, there is some great information about how to tell when they are ready at www.gerber.com

My ds is 3 & 1/2 months & my pedi said to go ahead & start him on it. Sometimes he doesn't know what to do with the spoon & spits it out.

my baby has awesome head control, sits well in her high chair and I think would do well if spoon fed - but I fear alergies - anyone know if starting solids too soon really does cause alergies?

It does, but if she seems ready I wouldn't worry much at her age. :)

I started my dd on cereal because she has reflux and it really does help with keeping the spit up down too. She has also slept through the night twice now 7pm-6am and she is b___st fed too. Just do it an hour before bedtime and they sleep so good!
