Babies And The Word Quot No Quot

At what age do babies understand the word no? Just curious. :)

I believe they recognize the change in your voice and posture early on...like 6-8mo.'s...when you don't want them to do something. They learn to a__sociate that with the actual word "no"closer to 1yr. (10 mo. and up) if I recall correctly...

Our boy understood NO from 6 months when we first had to use the word. He had started crawling and kept going for the power cords! He hesitates now when we say NO (it doesn't always stop him from reaching his objective though).... LOL. The joys of parenthood!!
