He just turned 1 and the doctor said it was time to get him on cow's milk, but he won't drink it! I tried putting a little mixed with his formula and he cried and refused to drink it and is all upset at me now. So, what now? Could he really not like the taste that much? Could he possibly be allergic and his body is telling him this? I never had this problem with my other two- can someone give some advice???

If he is on a cows milk based formula, he is not allergic to the milk. I transitioned VERY slowly. Only about 1 or 2 oz in a 6 oz bottle to start. They shouldn't really notice a taste difference when it's that small of an amount. Good luck!

I am still having this problem with my dd she 13 months and don't like whole milk. She is completely off the bottle and will drink it a little better than at first now. I have noticed she drinks it better with her meals. Someone suggested carnation instant breakfast mix or ovaltine to flavor the milk. I don't want to result to that just yet so I am just going to keep offering it and hopefully she will get enough. Also you can make sure he gets calcium from other foods. (Cheese, yogurt, pudding)Use milk in his cereal and oatmeal instead of water or juice and cook with milk as well. Also try different sippy cups he may not like his. The Nuby is a good transition cup.
