I've noticed whenever i give ds bananas he gets constipated..which is a shame because he loves them. Have any of you noticed this too? Also, i cant seem to find any prune juice and wondered if it was ok to soak prunes in water overnight or something? Poor baby has been trying to push that poop out for 2 days:(

Definitely! My lo gets that way too. when I give him bananas I make sure he gets apples and lots of other fibre with it so he doesn't get all bunged up. I'm not sure about soaking the prunes.... They usually have prune juice in the baby section of the grocery store, but if you can't find any I would just try water, that helps too.

when my ds is backed up...usually w/ bananas which he loves too!! I give him a couple teaspoons of pears. That does the trick for us. For his second meal I may give him peas which works too! Goodluck.

Hey Hana. Bananas are very much a cause for constipation with all ages, especially babies and elderly. Rough stuff! (no pun intended).

Bananasa re def constipating. Apples are actually slightly constipating too (though the juice is the opposite). Pears and prunes are your best bet. As for prune juice, you can either find the mixed. Or you can just buy the straight adult prune juice. Just make sure it is 100% juice and dilute it with a bit of water.
