A month ago or so I got a belly dancing dvd with the intention of using it to get back in shape, well I finally used it and it was so awesome! It's pretty easy to follow and so fun! I got the hang of it after my first time ever trying belly-dancing =) It was so liberating! I didn't realize how much strength you have to have to do that... I feel so out of shape lol, but it was still fun. hopefully My belly will look nice again by summer! woo hoo! Ah, exercise really is good =) The dvd is by Amira Mor and is called Soulmate Belly Dancing, for anyone who wants a fun way to get back in shape =) I got it at ross for like, 7 bucks but I'm sure you can find it on Amazon. =) Ps. You REALLY have to stretch before trying this!

Wow - sounds good! I would love to try it myself. It's not hard to get the hang of? I absolutely HATE my belly right now and would be so happy to find something fun to work it back into shape! Ross is a great store - sometimes you can really find some treasures. Have fun and let us know how it goes. Are you going to buy the whole costume and belly neclace thingy too?!

hey lolly, I went to belly dancing cla__s 14 days after my daughter was born--it's awesome for getting into shape. Good to see fellow bellydancers on here.

hey ladies =) Elle, I do want to get the outfit now! The dance is so seductive if you do it with a veil! I had to use a sarong lol. At first it seems tricky to do, but really, if you just fallow your body, it will lead you! Smilefull, Was the cla__s fun? I would love to take a cla__s if I ever had time! I bet that really snapped you back in shape =)

Smilefull, are you still dancing? It does seem totally s_xy to me, but cla__sier than that stripper pole exercise routine that was so hot a year or so ago. Lolly, go get the veil! Most definitely! You would probably stick to it if you felt good doing it, KWIM? Go S_xy Mommas!!

heck yeah! It's strange, it was so empowering =) Probably because it is so feminine. A man could never do this dance because you need hips and curves! sorry, what does KWIM mean? I've been around on the net for a while, but there are always new abbreviations =) ps I think belly dancing is way better than pole dancing also. It feels more spiritual and less... dirty lol

Lolly, I totally agree with you! I personally would be more inclined to stick with an exercise/shape up routine if I felt s_xy, empowered, and in touch with my feminity and strength! KWIM = know what I mean. I couldn't figure that one out for the longest time too!

haha, ok well now I know =) I'm sure I will be using that one later! KWIM? lol! I used to do exercise videos, but they weren't as much fun and seemed more like work. I really got a workout from belly dancing, and it didn't feel like working out =)

I got in instructional dvd a couple years ago for Christmas and I used it for a little while, then things got so hectic and I never was able to get back to it. I'm going to try and find a belly dancing cla__s because I think I'd get more from that. And you really DO have to have a lot of strength to do it, that's for sure! The first time I tried, I was embarressed because I was getting tired halfway through!
