My little one caught my cold. Its a pretty bad one. Sneezing coughing, aches and pain. I was taking pain relief medication for my pain but now that my son has it (he also has a low grade fever 99.6) I am confused as to weather I can still take the medication since my son is taking tylenol and I dont want to over medicate him. How much of the medication

You can continue to take OTC meds for your cold. Your son will be fine even if he's taking Tylenol. I'm doing that right now per docs orders... Some of the OTC meds you might be taking could decrease your milk production though - not sure of your milk situation - maybe it won't be a problem. So far no problems for us. Also menthol lozenges are known to decrease - but i've been sucking away at them. Zinc ones are better - just don't over do. I gave my son Tylenol and Motrin for about 3-5 days, then stopped. Constantly running a humidifier helps too for both of us. Keep b___stfeeding him though.

thanks I didn't know some otc could decress my milk. I wasn't going to stop b___stfeeding...I was just going to suffer while my baby got the meds and the milk. but now I think I will take some things...I hate that I cant breath right now.
