Bottle Nipples

Should I switch him to medium flow? He seems to appear hungry but its almost like he hates his nipple now (he's had the same one since I had to quit BF). Do you all think thats a sign to switch? If so looks like I'm going shopping.

It may be. What bottles do you use? I use Dr Browns, and I am on the stage 2 nipples.

I use the playtex nurser. He is three months old.

I know my nipples at slow flow, or stage one were for up to 3 mos, now they are from 3 mos up, so he may be ready for a change now.

I just thought the same thing this morning feeding Emma with a Playtex slo flo. She seems to take forever to drink 3-4 oz and I wondered if it's too slow.

Heidi thats exactly what made me ask this. :)

I agree, this nipple thing drives me nuts, my 6 week old seems to tucker out with the slow flow on most bottle brands and just doesn't get what she needs, so I went to stage two nipples and then she gulps the bottles down and pukes half back up... I have tried vent air, playtex and now am using the tri-flow nipples that let you set, fast medium or slow, and she seems to do well on that's slow flow... they are convenient because they fit on any standard small bottle...

yes it sounds like time for a change in nipple. but you might want to hold on to the stage 1/slow flow nipple if you give you little one juice from a bottle they might want a slower flow (juice is a thinner liquid than the formula I use) and my dd seems to choke with a faster nipple I hope that new nipples work for you good luck

thanx for the advice

Since 3 months when she does get a bottle she gets fast flow from playtex nurser or Stage 3 from advent. You will know if they arnt ready they will choke on the mik when it comes out to fast for them.
