Hi all, My ds is 10 weeks old and takes his naps in the bouncer seat. He seems to sleep longer when the vibration is on and when i switch off the vibration he wakes up. Is vibration good for his health?. Can i let him sleep for hours with the vibration on until he wakes by himself ?. I am worried a lot, please help.

Its not bad for him but it is a very hard habit to break.

It's not bad for his health, if it was they wouldn't make such things. Whether or not it's a hard habit to break differs from baby to baby. Tasia loved her swing, she wouldn't nap without it...and believe it or not it really wasn't a hard habit to break her out of. She still fits into it but she doesn't even like it much anymore. If you start to notice that he is getting too needy for bouncer seat you should maybe try cutting back his time in it little by little.

Yeah that bouncy vibration is addictive! My dd LOVES it. I had the same concern that it was bad for her health with all the shaking and what not, but her pediatrician said that it was ok, and actually good for a baby who has trouble getting to sleep. I put on the seat and give her a paci and she is on cloud 9.

I've had the same worries...mainly because we have a mat with heat and vibration in it and it states not to use the vibration part for longer than 30 minutes at a time. It doesn't really state why....but then it is made for aching muscles and the like so the vibration may be quite a bit stronger.
