Breast Feeding And Other Fluids

dd is 7 months now, and she is br___t-feed and takes solids daily. My ped. didn't say anything about her needing other fluids at her 6 month check up. When did you give your br___t-feed baby water or other fluids? thanks =)

I don't really have an answer for you, but I'm facing the same dilemma..My son is 9 months old and he does not like to drink anything apart from bm. I don't think it's really an issue right now, as long as he gets enough liquid through bm, it will become more of a problem when the amt. of bm he drinks will become less - you can check if she is well hydrated by the no. of wet nappies she produces - her nappies should never be dry over a period of a couple of hours. And if there aren't any other signs of dehydration, I wouldn't worry about extra fluid intake at the moment.

It's not necessary to give your lo anything else to drink, unless you want to. You can give some water while she has her solids, I do just beacuse I can't imagine eating and not having anything to wash it down with. If you want to, you can give juice occasionally, but if you do make sure and water it down. I give Trevor juice on occa__sion, and just for the heck of it. (meaning it's not with his solids, just to have something yummy.)

Thanks ladies, she does have plenty of wet ones a day so she must be fine =)
