Breastfeeding Q About Quot Letdown Quot

When I used to nurse my dd, I always felt that sharp tingle during "letdown." However, now that she is 10 months and nursing less frequently etc.....there are times when I don't feel that tingle. Does that mean that "letdown" isn't happening ~~ or am I just not feeling it all the time?

When im really engourged i dont feel the let down (the few days that my son slept through the night a few weeks ago) and there are some times that i dont feel the tingle.......But i start to hear the gulping and feel the change in his sucking pattern so i know that it is let down.....SO maybe its normal...

My letdown sensation has gradually gotten less intense. In the beginning it tingled so much it hurt, and now I can just barely feel it (dd's almost 8months old). So I guess it's normal...

Let down in one b___st has become more intense...while the other b___st has become less intense. Go figure!

I never felt letdown with my babes... at least not the way others have described it. I felt like a pulling sensation (unpainful) under my arm... well, on my arm... near my armpit. That was it! But, they all gained the weight they were supposed to ;-)

Yes, I agree, it gets less intense too. Even when you haven't "letdown" though they still get something, just less, so if she is happy to stay on and feed (I know not as voracious as a newborn!) she is getting something!
