My baby was breech (kept going from breech to transverse and back) but a routine ultrasound found that his hips were ok..but he did have club feet due to the presentation. Im a__suming your baby has cong.hip disolcation? I always thought it was corrected other ways. Sorry i cant help you more. When is the op?

Are you talking about hip dysplasia? I had a breech baby, but did not have any problems with her hips. My friends baby (who was not breech coincidentally) was born with hip dysplasia and had to wear a body cast or brace for the first 15 months. She is 5 years old now and perfectly healthy. From what I recall, the cast and brace has something to do with holding the head of the femur in place until the hip can grow around it properly.

well i dont know for sure if my baby will need the operation yet, he is only 4 weeks old tomorrow, but the doctors said he needs x-rays at 12 w to see what position his hips are in. Right now the doctor has us double diapering him untill then. I suppose i will find more out when we go in for our 6 week appoinment,(which isn't till april 4th).-Hana has your baby's club feet stopped him frm walking any differently or anything? thanks

My baby was breech which resulted in a c-section.The docs were concerned at first that one of her hips were dislocated (could hear a clicking noise). However,by the time she was 2 months old....she was okay. We did have to double diaper her for a while though.

I had a breech baby (and c section) and never even heard of hip problems as a consequence! Is this something I should have concerns about if my dd is 11 months?

YOu doctor would have said something to you i am sure, The hip problems i believe come from the baby's legs being up like in their chest, but i woldn't imagine you have anything to worry about if your dd is 11 months old and doing just fine.:)

yeah, my babies feet were up by her face the whole time......she was quite squished in there

Hey, are you the girl who "didn't believe in prenatal care"? I'm so sorry about what happened to your sweet baby. Maybe now you realize the importance of prenatal care. Did you give birth v____ally?

I have to apologize for my last post. It was not helpful, immature and snide. I wish there was an "unsubmit" b___ton. I hope your little one is alright and please forgive my tone.

I just had a little girl in December and she went from breech to transverse right up until delivery. In the end I had a c section and her hips have been perfect since she was born. I didnt even know that because of her positioning it could cause hip problems. ~Kristin~

My best friend's son was almost folded in half and was breech. He was 10 lbs. 6 oz. and REALLY squished in there. His hips and legs were way up in the air for a few days and had to be ma__saged down. They did the hip x-ray at 12 weeks, but he was ok.

Yes i am the one who didn't "believe" in the prenatal care. I did have a c-section(with only three hours notice prior). But i was told by my doctor, whom i saw three weeks before my original due daye of January 20th, that there was nothing they could have done before delivery, and he also thought the baby was head done when he did an internal check, it wasn't untill an ultra sound was done that they discovered i was breech. flower.momma -no hard feelings to your tone or anything and so far my baby is just fine, fyi he came to me on the 7th of feburary weighing 8lbs 2oz
