With changing the clocks, when I put my baby to bed today it was still light out. I have basic shades in his room and the light was coming through the side cracks. ANyone have any advice as to what I could get to block out the light and if you do have advice, where could I buy them

We just had solar shades put on all of our windows to decrease the glare and heat in some rooms. They definately cut down on the amount of light coming through. We had a company that specializes in them do it. It isn't cheap, but we were hoping to cut down on our air conditioning bill in the long run. You could also try getting a heavy curtain for the window that could be pulled closed when needed.

You can buy a light-blocking shade...walmart has one that is like a heavy white curtain. I have plain shades in my kids' room and then I've got curtains over them...I made the curtains out of twin-sized bedsheets because that's the cheapest way to make them...cost me $3 for the sheet and $2 for the curtain rod.
