Since Ethan is about the same age as mason, I just wanted to compare a little. I noticed Ethan was sitting up so early in your slideshows. Mason JUST now can sit up on his own, though he will fall over every 5 minutes or so if I don't sit with him. I know you said Ethan was a good eater as well....what are you feeding him at this point?

How old is Mason?

Bonnie - August 17

He'll be 7 months next week :D

My dd will be 8 monts on the 28th of this month and she sat up just like that. Now she us crawling on carpet only because she is not super great at it yet. She still tips over every now in then too when sittin gup. Just wait. It seems like they don't sit very well and then before you know it they are getting into a sitting position from all 4's and then crawling. I am sorry if I just b___ted in on your question for Cae but I knew that Mason and Caitlyn (dd) were close in age too.

lol...well, I was asking Cae about food, but I am glad you posted. Did Caitlyn like being on her tummy? How did she start to crawl? Everytime I put Mason on his belly he rolls off it, lol. I'm thinking he may never crawl!

She HATED her tummy. Everytime she rolled from her bak to tummy she screamed. It took her forever to learn to roll from her tummy to her back and after that it just all followed pretty fast. One day she got up on all 4's and I could not believe it. About 2 weeks later she started to rock a bit. They she took only like 3 little steps and fell. A week later she was off. Like I said she has not mastered it enough to crawl on our hardwood floors yet but she is doing really well. She is never on her tummy. She still hates it. Mason will get there and once he does you will be chasing him all over the place.

Hi Bonnie. Ethan still needs a little support to sit up, but for the most part he can almost sit up on his own without support. I use a boppy pillow around him just incase he happend to fall to the side. Here is a very short video of him sitting with the boppy pillow... http://media.putfile.com/ethan(no dashes). When I took those pics for my slideshow he could sit up for only about 3-5 minutes then he would plop over, so I usually sat behind him, or I would sit him on the floor with his back against the sofa, that worked great. As far as what he eats, he drinks around 30 oz of formula,(separate from his solid meals) and three meals a day. I would like to try to incorporate his bottle along with his 3 meals a day, but not sure how to go about it. In the morning he eats oatmeal mixed with a 4oz stage 2 fruit. Lunch a 4 oz veggie, and dinner a 4oz veggie and 2oz of fruit. He also still hates tummy time like Mason. He will roll right over within a couple of seconds.lol I am worried that he may be a late crawler also.

Jenny, did she get on all fours from a sitting position or from her tummy?...............Cae, he is SO cute. That is the first live video I have seen from him. WHAT is that toy??? Mason would LOVE that! He is eating about like Mason. I have manages to get mason's meals and bottle within one hour of each other but I have not been able to incorporate them either. I give Mason a sippy of water with his meals. Have you done any puffs or antyhing like that?

jennyr - August 17

I will lay her on her back and she rolls to tummy and then up on all fours. It is so cute.

I will probably start to try to give him a bottle with his solid meals soon. We have such a great feeding schedule that I hesitate to change it, but I would like to do it sooner that later. You know I bought some banana fruit puffs and some squash puffs but I am scared to try them. I have not opened them yet, so I might try in about a month. I have tried a stage 3 veggie, like I mentioned before, but he is too young for that. I didnt realize their were so many chucks and particles in it. Ethan didnt know what to do with them. lol. Does Mason get constipated alot? Ethan seems constipated lately, more than usually. I have not changed his diet, so not sure what is going on. He seems to be straining quite a bit, and his stools are very, very firm. A couple of times they were like little b___s..lol So I have been giving him prune juice or feeding him pureed prunes, but I found that I have done this 4 times this past week. I even stopped giving him oatmeal for about 4 days, and just fed him plain fruit. I hope he doesnt keep this up. I have not tried any suppositories, as I try my best not to give him any meds, if all possible. He did have a small BM today, and one yesterday, but not enough. What do you do for Mason constipation if he has any? Yes..Ethan loves that toy!!!. It is a Sesame street toy. I actually bought it at a yard sale for about $2.00. I have never seen anything like that before.

Damn!! I wanted to know what that toy was, i was all set to go out and find one, lol. Okay...stage 3 foods. I too tried it and Mason gagged and I have not since. But he LOVES the puffs...omg boy does he love them. I too am scared he will choke. So I brake them in half and give them to him and sit there while he eats them. I think he may be ready for stage 3's soon now the way he is eating the puffs, but I'm waiting still............constipation ~sigh~ we have battled with it BADLY since Mason started solids. I cannot stop it naturally. Mason has been on a daily dose of MOM which I HATE doing. Like you, I hate to drug my kid up and he is already very drugged up with reflux medications. If I miss a dose he is in SO much (reflux that is). The one thing I WOULD recommend is not let him stay constipated. Suppositories and liquid enemas are not habit forming. Even if you used them daily it won;t hurt anything (that is from Mason's GI doc). BUT....if it hurts them to poop, they may hold onto it causing even more back up leading to a cronic problem and battle. So if he gets backed up, give him one. Stay away from apples (juice is okay, just nto applesauce fruits), bananas, rice cereal....they are all constipating. Go for pears and even better...prunes. Also.....see if anyone near you sells YoBaby yogurt. Technically they should be 8 months to have yogurt (it's not like milk and is okay to give before a year), so if you give it...watch for a few days for a reaction. But it has a lot of probiotic culures in it which aids in tummy digestion (google their web site to read about it). Mason's GI actually had him taking those probiotics in pill form when he was 3 months old. Anyway, it also has organic sugar.....and that is getting Mason pooping. I have not had to dose him with MOM in 2 days now and I am praying this yogurt keeps him going. :D

Wow..that great Mason has been eating those fruit puffs. I may have to try them soon, but with cautious, of course. Thanks for the info regarding the constipation, I will definately give him something to help him go if he doesnt have a good BM tomorrow. Yes..Ethan loves that toy, it is his favorite toy that we got so far, and the cheapest..lol I tried googling it and the closest I found was this...http://www.fisher-price.com/fp.aspx?st=8000&e=sesstThumbnail&pcat=ss_inf&ppage=1&ppagesize=6........there should only be one dash between fisher and price, takes others out. What we have here must be an older product, not sure if they sell it anymore. But he loves this so much, I am considering getting one of the ones from this website.

Bonnie - August 18

Nah, that toy doesn't look as good. Does it say anything on the side? maybe ebay has one. :(.....just brake the puffs in half. Check out that yogurt too, it is SO yummy. Kinda pricey though.

cae - August 18

Yeah..I will try the yogurt..thanks. Hmm..i looking to see if there is a name on it, and I did find it was made in 2002..lol It says Mattel Inc. Sesame worskhop and made in China..lol Maybe checking on Ebay will be your best bet.

Bonnie - August 18

Nope, nothing on ebay...~sigh~ oh well. Mason really loves things that spin like that!
