My son is 10 wks. old taking over 30 oz. of formula a day and seems hungry still. He is 15 lbs. Do you think he is ready to try some cereal?

check with your doctor to she what he says whether or not you listen to him is up to you but if you do decide to add (rice cereal is best) only add a teaspoon or so to the bottle make sure that it is desolved i belive i have seen on other posts that dr browns bottles makes a special nipple for adding cereal good luck

My son was big too and I started giving him cereal at 16 weeks. I just followed the guidelines but people do give it before.

I started giving cereal a little early. I didn't put it in the bottle, just gave it to her with a spoon. Babies have a reflex where they push all the food back out of their mouths with their tongue...once they lose that reflex they're ready for cereal.

babies can have anywhere from 24- 40 oz of formula a day. At least thats what my health nurse told me. :)
