Can I Tie Her Hands Down Just A Joke

My dd has started a new fun for mom habit. When I feed her her jarred food with a spoon she insists on putting her thumb in her mouth after EVERY bite!! So, food gets on thumb, then thumb gets in hair and back of highchair, then in back of hair, then on table then on clothing not covered by the biggest bib ever, then somehow it gets on me,............ So when I feed her it is a race, after a spoonfull I have a wet cloth ready to quick wipe, grab thumb and shove in more food. I wouldn't even know any ways to stop this other than tying her hands down ( yeh yeh child abuse police wouldn't like that one) or I could grow another arm, I just hope she grows out of this one... quickly.

Too Funny! My dd does this. I have just started mixing rice cereal with her fruit unitl it is really thick. Then I strip her down to her diaper and let her have it. I make it thick enough that she can get some on spoon accidentally when she puts it in the bowl since she really doesn’t get the concept quite yet. She usually ends up eating it with her fingers, but she does eat it. She is a mess afterwards but I do this at night before her bath anyway. In the day time, I just give her an extra spoon to play with. That helps some but she really enjoys the night feeding……she is 8.5 mos.

Mason does that only not his thumb just the back of his hand. he usually ends up looking like I poured the food on him instead of feeding it to him.

My dd b__ws into the spoon as I put it to her mouth. Freakin cute, but really messy! She's only 5 mos old, so I can't really tell her not to do it! lol
