Has anyone tried a soft gate? I am blocking off a 48' area in front of the basement door and am looking at Soft and Wide Gates' but am having trouble finding reviews on these. Anyone have any experiences with these?

here are some reviews on that gate from www.onestepahead.com: "This is a wonderful gate! Easy to put together and install. Fits wonderfully on are stairs which is a wall on one side then a bannister on the other. This gate is very strong but easy for an adult to pop off." NEXT: "Gate works very well. My inlaws have a doorway that is 60", and the gate fit fine and was very sturdy. You can't beat it for the price." NEXT: "I can't say enough good things about this gate! I like the fact that you can adjust the top and bottom rails of the gate independently. I have baseboards at the floor and then the wall at the top, and this gate fit perfectly. Also, the softness of the gate is very nice. I know that I do not have to worry if our baby bumps into it. The easy setup and portability are added bonuses as well." - Nancy Wilkinson, Oxford NC NEXT" "This is a wonderful gate! Easy to put together and install. No other gate would fit without being screwed into the railings, which we didn't want to do with this type of deck. It was perfect for our one year old." "Easy to use! Would purchase again." Germantown MD "Finally! I love this gate! We tried several gates on our 48" doorway at the top of our stairs ranging in price from $35 to $145 and not one worked EXCEPT for this gate! This gate is extremely sturdy - both my husband and I pushed pretty hard on this gate and couldn't get it to budge. My husband installed this gate in minutes! I love the color too! It doesn't stand out like a lot of those tacky-dog-looking gates - the nice brownish color blends nice with our decor. Great gate!! :)" - Shelli Galbraith, Frisco TX "This gate is a godsend. It not only fits our wide doorway but withstands our strong little boys weight. It also is nice and soft on his head if he falls over into it. It takes a short bit of patience to put into place but seems to be well worth it so far. I also like that we can take it down or put elsewhere in the house if we want. The only downfall may be that our cats might claw it but so far so good. I recommend this gate to all." "I really like this gate. It was easy to put together and adjust to fit perfectly in the wide opening between our kitchen and family room. We actually got this gate to keep our dogs out of the family room during the day." - Vickie, Baltimore MD NEXT: "This gate was just what we needed for the stairway on our Timberline Trex Deck.
