Climbing Out Of Crib

When did your child start to climb out of the crib? I stayed home today and all of a sudden I heard a loud noise. I kind of ignored it but then I heard my son playing/talking in his room. I went to check on him and he met me at the door. Then I put him down for a nap and I watched through the crack and he was climbing out again. He seemed really tired a little later so I put him down and 2 mintues later he comes strolling into the living room. He's 21 months and I'm not ready for him to sleep in a regular bed. His crib is a 3 in 1 but I don't think it includes a guard rail. I guess I better go buy one soon before he breaks his neck. What did everyone else do with a child this young?

Hi, I just transitioned my dd 24mths, to her daybed. She was climbing out. I wasn't ready to switch her either but I figured either I will struggle with her climbing out of the crib and getting hurt or deal with her climbing out of her bed. Either way it was a battle. It really wasn't that bad. Oh and if you need a rail, don't make the same mistake that I made. We have the three in one bed too, well, when you transition to the toddler bed, you place a wood rail to, in lack of a better word, imbox the mattress, thus making it impossible to use a toddler bed rail. When you shop for one, make sure its for the three in one bed.

You guys are lucky...my ds got out of his crib a couple of weeks ago and he just turned 15 months!!! Thankfully he hasn't made a habit of it.

my friends dd started climbing out of her crib at 7 months old - count your blessings that hes 21 months! Can you put a baby gate as his bedroom door?

When I hear stories of this... I think of the movie "Big Momma's House 2"... have you seen that??!! There is this little boy that jumps off of the top bunk and lands flat on his stomach every time!! It looks so painful, but he just does it over and over.... I can just see your LO's doing this from the crib!!! :)
