Cloth Diapering Recommendations

To those of you who are cloth diapering: can you recommend any certain types/brands, affordable places to buy, are you stay-at-home or is child in day care? I really want to give cloth a try, but there are so many options out there, plus eventually baby will be in day care (I know a lot of daycares don't allow cloth), so we may have to switch back at that point. This is our first baby.......I know each brand will work best for a different baby, but can anyone give me a good place to start or just any advice to help me out. Thanks!

Just get the cheapest prefolded you can find. The diaper covers is where you will find you have a preference. Don't buy lots of the infant size as they grow out of them quickly. I got mine at http://www.chooseydiapers.com/

I am a SAHM. I use flat diapers. My mom made me some for a shower gift because I couldn't find any thick kinds out there and the more you wash them the thinner they get. You can fold them different ways for boys or girls because they need the absorbancy in different places. I use kooshies covers $6.50cdn each at walmart. I have a diaper pail and I put 1/2 cup borax in with some water and wash them every other day. I really enjoy doing something good for the environment.

Search EBAY.. two doxen chinese pre-fold(Not the GERBERS) 5-6 covers and same snappis( little things you use instead of pins) work great.Check out Integritybaby.com They are ,by far, the cheapest. For under 70 dollars you can get enough to last from 3-8 months, then they can be sold on ebay. Then you purchase the next size up. For newborns I use premie prefolds and prowraps newborn covers or hand knit wool covers.. I use fuzzi Buns at night, they run about $14.00 each. I have three for my son. I do laundry everyday to everyother day. I love using cloth and will with my newborn in June.
