Colic

Hi, my daughter is three weeks old today. For the past two nights, she has screamed her head off from 6pm to about 11pm. Nothing we do seems to comfort her. I dont think its gas either b/c we gave her the mylecon drops and they did absolutely nothing for her. Is this the behavior of a colic behavior? What can I do for her (and myself) to stop these episodes. Any advice?

It may be colic, in order for it to be diagnosised as colic, she has to cry for 3 hours, 3 days a weeks, for at least 3 weeks. It does sound like it though. Some things that may help are taking her for a car ride, putting her in a bouncy seat that vibrates, giving her a warm bath. You can also get this wonderful stuff called Gripe Water, I found mine at whole foods, that works wonders. Hope things get better soon. Oh and my daugter also loves the swing.

My daughter is the same way. She is now 6 weeks but she did that at 3 weeks too. She still cries a lot. I use the vacuum to sooth her. It helps. I don't know what Gripe water is and how it works for them. I would love to know. I switched her forula to Nutrigen also
