Convertible Car Seats I Need Help

Well, my 6 month old is too long for his infant carrier, so I need him in another seat by the weekend!! I need one that will recline a good bit because the back seats in the Envoy seem to point upwards a little and we travel on the weekends a lot of the time. Which ones do you have - what do you love and hate about them? Thanks

I have the Evenflo Triumph Deluxe. I love it! Dd was 7 months when we put her in it and now that she is 2, it's still great! She rides comfortably in it. One thing I don't like, is how the straps adjust. It is kinda hard but I think, the harder, the better! If it was easy it doesn't seem as trustworthy. The price wasn't too bad....about $140.00. Some are like $250............

I have the Cosco Scenera Versa-Fit, and I love it. It straps in tight, easy to adjust and has a "tilt" feature when the child is facing rear, or front. It was about $65 at WalMart.

Mine also has a deep tilt. It has a three positon tilt. I forgot to mention that

Thanks - I like the idea of the 3 position recline! Anyone else?

I love the britax Marathon!!! I also had the Britax decathelon and hated it!!! well I hated how hard it was to tighten and release thestraps. The safety ratings for the britax is what sold me on getting one.

I love Max's Marathon too. Well worth the money. I found the best deal on Sears.com. I spent $250 for it, but it goes up to 65 lbs (instead of the usual 40lbs) so he will be able to use it longer. My hubby has a compact car so the back seat has a strong slope to it and it still has enough of a recline to it. I love the padding around the crotch strap, the lock off clips that keeps the car seat in the car in the event of belt buckle failure during a severe wreck, the plush seat cover, the fact you can buy extra seat covers if you have a messy kid or if you have second child of the opposite s_x you can buy a gender appropriate cover. I also purchased a Graco Comfort Sport for my parents car. It is a bare bones, no frills car seat. Its fine for their short trips around town, but Max starts to fuss if he is in it more than 30 min due to the lack of padding.

Thanks ladies. I have been doing research on the Internet since yesterday and it does look like Marathon has the best ratings. Luvidivi - the Triumph has nothing but complaints about the straps BUT since you like it so much and it is rated on average #2/3 in safety - we are still going to check it out this weekend. Thanks so much for all of you input! Wish me luck as I plan to pi** off the BRU people by pulling them all down and putting my son in them!! haha

I hope your BRU has better colors of th Marathon than ours did. They had lots of girl prints but not too many boy appropriate ones. I ordered the Granite at sears. It has flecks of different shades of grey. It doesn't show lint (or cat fur) and lookd nice with my car's grey interior.

Hopefully we can get a good boy print. My husband was at target last night and they had them there as well - so hopefully we can find a good one between the two stores!

I don't know if you hubby is into college sports, but you can order all the major college's colors and logo on your Marathon. Check out Target's website. They are about $20 more, but they are really neat looking!
