My dd is 9 1/2 weeks and I think she may have reflux. Can you please give me your advise if you think the same or something else. She will throw up so hard that it is shooting out of her nose sometimes. She is constantly spitting up. When she swallows sometimes you can tell it hurts because she will almost stop breathing and throw herself backwards, and then she starts screaming. Secondly, she is on Good Start Soy (we have tried several things already) but it does not seem to fill her up. She wants to eat every 2 hours all the time and she is eating almost 6 oz each time. She has been on rice cereal 2 times a day for about 1 1/2 weeks now and that doesn't help either. Thirdly, she has a heart murmur and if she still has it at her 4 mo appointment they are going to send us to a cardiologist. I don't know whether or not to be concerned yet or not, her doc said not to worry too much yet. I am lost of what to try next. Please if you have any suggestions let me know.

I would suggest taking her off the cereal unless your doctor advised you yo give it to her. It is recommended to give babies cereal or other solids at 6 months as their bellies have don't developed or matured enough to break down and digest it before then. Some babies are good to get cereal at around four months but they show signs they are ready. I think your dd is a little to young yet.

My doc did suggest cereal which is why I started it. I know it was too young but he suggested.

definitely sounds like reflux! 2 of my kids had it. Is she arching her back back? Call your pedi and have them refere you to a specialist for that if he/she wont prescribe you meds for reflux. Stick with the cereal. Will help ease her tummy some.

Yes she is arching her back when she gasps for air. Her face turns bright red. How many times a day did you feed cereal. Is 2 enough or does it need to be uped?

my daughter has reflux. We didnt agree with the meds for her so the dr put her on cereal 3 times a day. She is also on Soy. She still spits up all the time though.
