Mary was 11 mos. old. We replaced all the bottles of her pumped milk with it so I didn't have to pump at work. I planed on nursing her for a nother month at night and in the morning, but after she got cows milk, she refused to nurse......so she was easy to wean. IMO 9 mos is a a little early, but you could intorduce it if your family has no allergies to it and if it wont be her main sourse of nutriants. (Milk doen's have as many as fornula does and a 9 mos old still gets most of his nutriants from formula instead of food...)

also if you give it, watch for constipation, it is more common in reg cows milk than formula ro b___st milk.

You aren't supposed to switch until they are 1 yr. We began transitioning about a week before ds first bithday, and didn't have any problems. I'm sure back when your mil had babies, they might have said it was 9 mos, but now the recommendation is 1 yr.
