What are some crafty things that you guys do to keep things in order at your home. One thing I do is all of the little toys that come with all my daughters stuff is in its own box with a picture on front so we know what it is. And yours is............

Also, submit crafy ideas on how to save $$$ etc. etc.

I wish I were crafty! Maybe I can get some ideas!

Also, one I have is where I have taken a picture of Grace with her hair all done and attached ribbons to the bottom. We put her hair clips on it so we don't loose them and we know where they are. You just post the ribbon and picture somewhere in your home

I love your ideas! I wish I could add to this list, but while I'm organized, I'm not organized in any crafty sorta way.

you know those plastic bags that comforters and blankest come in? they have zippers on them, anyway I always keep ALL of those because you can use them to store anything,my dh thinks I'm crazy but little does he know I have a whole stash of those things under the bed...

there is a ribbon organizer you can buy or make that I have seen on eBay - it is made of an artists canvas, you add fabric and ribbons to it and then clip on ribbons...can hang in your dd's room. I am waiting for the canvas to go on sale, then I think I will make one.

Baby socks - I try to always wash my dd's socks in a lingerie bag. It keeps them together and keeps them from washing down the hose of the washing machine - I had a friend who had to call the Sears repair man 2x because of baby socks!

I have three metal baskets ( got the system at linens n things) above my washer dryer. One for each kid for bibs, washclothes, dirty undies, etc. One is for dirty kitchen towels. In the laundry room (where we enter the house from the garage) I have hooks for different things. One for mmy son's backpakc (at his level), one for my purse and one for hte diaper bag. I also have a big leather basket on my staircase that all of my son's artwork goes in and anything else that needs to go upstairs. Our upstairs is only a gameroomand big closet so this helps too. Outside of our kitchen we have a red hutch with three leather bins on it (target). One is for stuff to be filied, one for keys, sungla__ses, etc. and one for stuff we need to go through. I also have containers for all of my oldest son's toys so he knows where to put them. He can now clean his room really well and the gameroom too becaue everything has a place.

oooOOOOOooOOOOOO...I like this thread luviduvi. I'm by no means crafty--so it's not really "Craft Ideas" so much as "Survival Ideas"---I have a container in every room--like a basket, so when I'm cleaning up I put everything that's not suppose to be in that room in that one basket--can do that inbetween cleaning too. Keeps the clutter down, and you just empty the baskets when you have a minute. So much better than individually logging each toy back to each individual room.

these are great...I am learning a lot here. Smilefull that is a really really good idea. DD is always bring something from her play room bedroom, closet yada yada. My MIL told me tha at one time she had a box and whenever someone left something out she would place the item in the box. If the item stayed in the box for a week, she would place it in another box and hide it. It taught everyone to put there stuff away...Good Idea....

You taught your husband to put his stuff away?? HOW DID YOU DO THAT??? Please teach me this wisdom...what was it that worked? Time out?? Good'o'smack on the b___t discipline? Shock Therapy?

I can't let this thread die--I must now.

I use separate wicker baskets for hair bows, shoes, and socks. They seem to all get mixed together by Sunday morning, but that is my "goal". Does anyone use the over the door shoe organizer for "stuff"? I have read that idea.

tryingx3 - March 6

I keep a large gallon ice cream bucket on my washing machine for those "surprises" that have to soak - pick your favorite flavor to get started. :)

I do use the over the door organizers! One on my door, baby's door, dd's door, and bathroom door. Baby's door has shoes and hats. Dd's has dressup stuff. Mine has diapers and diaper rash cream, baby brushes etc., and Bathroom has toothbrushes, toothpaste, brushes, hairspray etc. I have NO storage space in my house so I have to be creative!
