Crusty Ears Uhhhh

The part of the ears where people pierce is all crusty. It looks like dry skin that she also has on her face and she is not pulling on her ears. I keep putting lotion on them but they continually keep crusting over. Any thoughts? It is hard to describe! it is off white, close to yellow in color and I can scratch it off with my nail. Maybe I can send someone a picture that has had experience with this?? Thank

How old is she? It could be cradle cap. My daughter had the same thing. I would rub it off with a damp cloth and eventually it went away once she got a bit older.

I have found the best cream for nappy rash, instead of zinc creams, is QV cream. It is so mild and soothing that you might find it suitable to use on your bubs ears. I also used this cream on my bubs face when his cheeks were a bit dry and it seemed to work almost immediately. It's cheap too.

My son had that, but it was actually in the crease behind his ears. Right where the ear meets the head. Dont scratch it with your fingernails, you dont want to break skin. Use a warm wet face cloth and try removing it with that. Dont scrub hard though, if it doesnt come off right away just keep trying in a little bit.

It's not spit up is it, that crusted onto her ears? Or is it visibly dry skin? My Dr. said zincofax is really good for any kind of skin irritation.

the cradle cap shampoo works real well..i used it on my first daughter and after i got done bathing her, i used a soft brush and just brushed off the flakes...
