Crying Cryptonite YAY

Ok, so I just had to share. I read somewhere (most likely here) that babies love the sound of vacuums. Well.. do they ever!!! Well mine anyway.. Maddox is one that LOVES to be held. Its so hard for me to get anything done because he always wants to be held. So the other day he was screaming in his cradle, so I broke out the dust buster... within 30 seconds, he had calmed down and within about 5 minutes he was sound asleep, WITHOUT me holding him!!!!! He is not a colicky baby, so not sure that this would work for everyone, but.. hey.. ANYTHING is worth a try! right? So now we call our little dust buster "Crying Cryptonite". Good luck all!

Hi Kaeli: I have a 5 week old daughter and she seems to calm down with the vacuum too. Not all the time but most of the time. i have to be holding her though and she will fall asleep too. How do you know if your baby is colic or not. I don't know if she is or not.

I think colic is if they cry for something like 3 hours at a time (or more), generally in the evenings and really cant be consoled (even by holding). At least that is how I understand it. I told my ped that Maddox gets fussy and he said he didnt think he had colic. Do you have those type of problems with your little one? Or think it may be colic?

She has been really fussy lately. Make a long story short. She was on similac with iron at birth till 3 weeks, got really fussy and I changed her to nutraigen by Enfimil, not the past 5 days she has been really fussy. I can hold her and she still cries. She will fall alseep ad once I put her in her swing, crib, ba__sinet she will wake up. I don't know if it is colic or fussiness, or the formula.

My mother taped the vacuum being run and put the tape player under my brothers bed. She said it worked every time!!

yes indeed, it worked for my son when he was a newborn up until he was about 3 months old. He is now almost 6 months old and he doesn't like the vacuum cleaner very much anymore.
