Date Night

Dh and I went on our first date night in 2 1/2 years last night. My parents babysat the kids ad we left once they were both tucked in around 8 o'clock. We saw Music and Lyrics which I thought was awesome, what a great chick flick! I have to say though that I didn't enjoy myself that much since through the whole movie all I kept thinking about were the kids and kept asking dh what time it was! I know he got a little peeved, but I just couldn't help it. The whole thing was just so awkward. I felt weird being in the car with just him cause that never happens anymore! I would much prefer to stay home and watch a movie all cuddled in bed with dh knowing that my babies are right next to me safe in their beds. Now to me, that's a date night! Know what I mean? I just don't feel the need to go out anymore. My mom was all "so are you going to go out again?" and I say "I don't think so, not for a while, and she says " I knew you would say that" and that almost made me cry!!! dh thinks I'm crazy and why wouldn't I want to get away from the kids...

I enjoy getting out once in awhile with dh. We used to go out all the time & we didn't really plan to get pregnant when we did (we weren't really trying not to either). So I miss it. But I know what you mean about thinking about your kids the whole time. I talked to dh about our son while we had dinner & just as we were leaving the movie theatre, dh's parents called him (they were watching ds) & I heard him say, "Oh my gosh!" & I freaked. I a__sumed something awful had happened to ds... but he was fine!
