venus_in_scorpio - March 8

im with you i have like 25 extra pounds still... from the pregnancy... haha

venus_in_scorpio - March 8

its so hard to be thin I was for a long time in the pre-baby days and you really have to revolve your life around food (or lack thereof lol) and portions and calories... exercise is wonderful because it takes SOME of the emphasis off of food. its so tough though! how big are you now and how big do you want to be? I'm 5'4 and 150 in a size 10 or 12, pre-preg I was 125 and size 4 or 6. I guess thats my goal. I have been trying to walk more on my lunch breaks every day but food wise I am doing bad because I eat too many sweets. I had a salad for lunch which was good with fat free low cal dressing then i topped it off with 300 calories worth of cookies... haha

venus_in_scorpio - we are in about the same spot...except I wasn't that small pre-pregnancy - I am 141 and was 138 before pg. I would like to see 125 again but I too am fighting the chocolate cravings. I also work with BIG BOYS who like to EAT. Anyone still b___stfeeding? I kind of use that as an excuse not to "diet".

I'll join you! I was 170 before pregnancy, and got up to 195. Now I'm down to 165.... but I really want to be 130 so I can wear all the clothes in my closet! (Last time I was 130 was almost four years ago). My biggest weakness is eating at night. I can go all day and be really good, but come 7pm or so, I lose all willpower! We just "inherited" a treadmill, though, so I've been trying to use that every day since it's still too chilly to start walking outside. Hey venus, I do the same thing.... I eat healthy and then "celebrate," lol.

I'm in! I would like to lose about 8 more lbs. My goal weight is 117.5 and right now I'm 125.8 at 5' 4" I eat pretty well and am losing weight steadily but I would like to start exercising better. I'm thinking cardio on the exercise bike 30 minutes a day 3 days a week and then strength training for about 30 minutes a day 3 days a week, on alternating days would be good. What do you think? I would probably start next Monday because I'm getting over a cold right now (always and excuse! lol) Tryingx3, I'm b___stfeeding my 7.5 month old, I think BFing has really helped me lose the weight I've lost so far. I have a feeling these last 8 lbs are gonna be hard to lose so I'm glad to have some mutual support!

tryingx3 - March 8

EricaG - what do you eat in an "average good" day? I don't want to cut back calories in a way that would reduce my supply, etc... How do I convince myself to grab that apple instead of the candy bar! argh! Another mental block I have is that my dh wants us to try again starting this fall...we are too OLD to wait.

I wanna join! I agree with venus_in_scorpio...you really have to revolve your life around keeping track of the food you eat. About a year before I got pregnant I had managed to lose 17 pounds and it was only because I kept a food diary, counting my calories consumed and burned. I put on some weight before I got pregnant, then put on another 50 pounds while pregnant. I'm about 170 now and would like to get back to 135 at least...125 would be fabulous, but I was pretty happy at 135 and found it pretty hard to get much below that and stay there. I'm 5' 3.5". I took dd for a walk in the neighborhood for exercise today. Fabulous weather today. Resisted the urge to call dh and ask him to get candy when he is at the store...barely! I picked up the phone, but then decided to post this instead!

Oh, I'm b___stfeeding too. Not sure if that is going to help or hinder. For some it seems to help, for others it doesn't.

tryingx3- today was a pretty average day for me so I'll say what I had today. breakfast was a 90 calorie special K bar and midmorning snack was 60 calorie sugar free pudding cup Lunch was a medium sized salad ( lettuce, artificial crab meat, croutons and italian dressing) and some chips and salsa. Afternoon snack was 3 homemade oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, 240 calories, Dinner was 6 oz. of chicken marinated and cooked in fresh salsa topped w/ shredded lettuce in a whole wheat tortilla. evening snack was 30 grapes (90 calories) Total was about 1600 calories for the day I would guess, maybe a little more. I just try to eat "right" each day and it's working pretty good, I love baked goods though, pies, cakes, cookies, muffins, cupcakes... those are my big temtations.

I had some trouble loosing that last 10lbs. How did I do it? I stopped buying soda (tea is better), chocolate, anything sugary or fattening. If You don't want it in your body, don't keep it in your house! I also cut back on fast food! I discovered that there are healthy alternatives to all those cravings =) I also bf, so I didn't want my supply to go down either so I just eat ALLOT of healthy food I don't count calories, I just watch what I put down the shoot. You can fill up faster on junk, but eating more food that is good for you is much better for you. Now when I go to the grocery, I buy all fresh food. Anything out of a box has likely been hydrogenated and has lots of added nasty-ness that may taste good, but it clogs those arteries and causes cancer! High fructose corn-syrape is a big no-no. If you crave Ice-cream, eat yogurt. If you crave chocolate, eat dried fruit that is sweet like banana. If you munch on celery for a snack, it takes more calories to chew and digest it than the celery has in it! Drink LOTS of water. If you can, eat home-cooked meals. If you work, bring lunch and snack on things like fruit, rice cakes, crackers and veggies. Over time, you will grow to actually prefer these foods over junk! Remember, when you have a craving, tell yourself that in a week, you won't remember what you ate today, so you'd be better off fueling your body than poisoning it. You can do it! I hope no one gets mad at me for posting since I am not trying to loose weight, I just want to share my strategy so that we can all be where we want to be and still have enough milk for our babies =)

I need a raincheck...I'm pregnant right now but I have a feeling I will need your help in 6 or so weeks :) I started out at 146 the day I found out I was pregnant w/ #1 (I am 5'11"). The day I found out I was pregnant w/ #2 I was 171!!!! :( Anyway I am now 189, w/ 6 weeks to go, and I want to be part of a big happy group of other non-size 00's (sorry had to say it)

i'm in! I gained 40 lbs with this pregnancy and my son is 1 week old today and I've lost 24 lbs... I don't know where it's gone.. *lol* he was 8 lbs and 12 ounces.. anyways, I'm not able to get out much just yet, my mom keeps telling me that i shouldn't take him outside till he's at least 30 days old.. so i'm stuck in the house, but for some reason i don't feel hungry at all.. I'm b___stfeeding him and that's helping a lot losing the weight.. I'm 5'6'' and my goal is to be 130 lbs... i was 160 when i got pregnant, got up to 200 lbs and now I'm 176.. So I got at least 46 lbs to lose.. i'm hoping by the end of this month to be at 160 at least. For some reason today i felt like i wanted to do pushups, but my b___bs are so full of milk, i'm afraid for them to touch the ground.. haha.. they are so sensitive from feeding every 2 hours..

vanja10 - March 9

LollyM - you are right, that's the easiest way to lose weight, it takes some crazy will power, but over time you will love yourself for it.. Also, don't forget exercise.. The more muscle you have, more calories you burn.. I used to be a gym nut, but ever since i got married, i got lazy... Time to change that! :)
