What's the difference between stage 1 and 2 formula? The #1 can says 0-12 months, and the #2 says 6-12+ months. My dd is still br___tfed, but I use formula to mix her cereal. If I should need to use formula one day when I wean her....which formula ia better? Or, is it just a marketing ploy of some kind?

Stage 2 formula is actually better for the babies. It has higher values of Calcium, and other nutrients. The reason they put 0-12 months on the stage 1, so so more women will buy it for longer (since it's priced higher). I was told to switch at 6 months (it's much cheaper, and just as good, so why not?). My dd transitioned really well. Hope that helped!

it has more iron in it too... when babies get to the age for the "stage 2 formula" (my enfamil can says 9-24mos.), they're drinking less formula and eating more solids which don't have enough iron.. so the stage 2 helps their diet be more balanced... that's what my ds' ped. told me...
