so many of ds's toys and things are surface washable only and i cant figure out how to disinfect them. i'd like to use clorox wipes but since he puts stuff in his mouth i dont know how safe that'd be. any suggestions?

Clorox actually makes a hard surface spray that is good to spray on baby toys, high chairs and any other hard surface. I use it ritually and it's great. No harsh smell and I don't have to worry about my lo putting the toys in her mouth.

I think you can disinfect a lot of things by steaming them in the microwave (not metal things obviously or things that would melt) I don't remember the steps but google it maybe? Something about putting lemon juice in a cup to creat the steam in the microwave with the object you want to clean?

At the child care center I worked at we did one of 2 things. if you have a store near by that sells commercial stregnth chemical cleaners they may have something. We used a purple spray called...I want to say microquat or something like that. We would dilute it but my boss said you could drink it straight and nothing would happen. Or we'd dilute 1 part bleach to 10 parts water and let it dry overnight (personally I am not a fan of this but that's just me). I'll get in touch with the center and post again if I get more info.
