Do Babies Get Psoriasis

A couple of my uncles and my mom all have psoriasis. I don't have it though. My son is 16 months old and he has this weird persistent rash that looks almost like eczema but it doesn't itch. He doesn't even notice it's there. I bathe him in water every day, and I don't use much soap, but could his skin just be dry? I lather him up with lotion right after his bath, but it seems to do no good? It's like little pink patches of dry skin. It will go away for a week or so, for no reason, then come back. I did show his ped. but she said "put some hydrocortisone on it" and that didn't do anything! I am so worried he will have it, it's a terrible thing to have to deal with especially through school age,...I am overthinking this already. Please any tips

Oh and it's not on his face ever at all.

My daughter has those same kind of patches on her too,one on her stomach and one on her leg,I don't think they itch because she doesn't notice them either. Her pedi said it was excema...not sure though. I tried the hydrocortisone cream too and it didn;t work. I have baby aveeno for extra dry skin and I just always put that on and the patches come and go...sorry not very helpful! I would hate for it to be psoriasis though.

Thanks eliz24, can you tell me something, does it seems like things can aggravate it with your daughter? Like a too-hot bath, or a mild fever, etc? I have been googling it today and I can't really get a good handle on whether it is psoriasis or not. I guess it could also be eczema I just dismissed that because I heard eczema is itchy. I don't know though. You say your daughter doesn't itch, so now I'm confused. Thanks you though

If I use fabric softenfer or really scented lotion(even johnson's) then it seems to get worse...I never noticed it more with a fever or anyhting though. I think psoriasis gets really flaky though....I can't get a strait answer out of my pedi! she just kinda stares at it and says to use that hydrocorto cream...kinda makes me upset. I wonder if it could be an allergy to sometihnng? I'm in the same boat as you,I don't know...
