ok my 7 month old son always wants to be held all day long, he will only play on the floor for like 1-2mins then hes crying to be picked up, i can get him to stay in the highchair for like 20mins if i give him a mesh feedee with grahm cracker in, anyways do you think its ok to just let him fuss and cry on the floor for like 30 mins, until he understands i can't hold him all day he weighs 20 pounds so he heavy and he also starts daycare next week and i know there not going to beable to hold him allday, any advice would be great!!!

In my opinion, not only is it ok, but it sounds like it's necessary. I would put him on the floor on a blankie with toys somewhere where you can see him and just let him fuss if that's we he's going to do. Walk in every few minutes and let him know you're still there but make him learn he has to have a little bit of alone playtime from time to time. Otherwise you're going to have an even bigger baby pretty soon that wants mommy to carry him all the time!

As long as he is supervised I think that time unheld to learn a little independance is a good thing. I would suggest a playpen though as opposed to the floor. Even at 7 months kids can get around!!!

thanks guys, i been wanting to do this for awhile i just htought some people would think it was mean the only other problem is when jordans at my moms she doesn't ever put him done, she wouldn't even let him cry it out at night, so i guess my next step is to get her to do the same thing
